not the bid prices on individual items.
This analysis is an overall assessment of JSSR Auction results only.

The number of items participated in this January 2014 auction were down by about 30%
from December 2013 due to foreign consignors’ concerns over Thailand political situations.

Auction results in January 2014 as compares to year-around averages of 2013 auctions:

Hydraulic Excavators in all sizes prices fall more than 30% for less popular models.
For popular models, prices fall about 15-20%.

Farm Tractors prices fall more than 20% across all sizes.
This resulted from the government’s Rice Pledging Scheme* which has been
failing to compensate farmers for several months now.
(* The Rice Pledging Scheme is one of the populist campaigns used by the
Yingluck government to gain votes in the previous 2011 election.)

Wheel Loaders in all sizes prices fall more than 30% for less popular models.
For popular models, there is no significant price change.

Forklifts in all sizes prices continues to fall, especially for less popular models
prices fall more than 30%. For popular models prices fall about 20%.

Pneumatic Roller size 10 ton and Macadam Rollers size 4 ton show no significant price change.

Miscellaneous items, spare parts and accessories prices fall more than 15%.

The overall picture reflected the state of downturn in auction business.
The number of popular equipment and price per item were down notably.
This may result in reduction number of auction items to bidders, as there is less
confidence in steadiness of bid prices.
